About HI Burma

Help International Burma (HI Burma) is a small humanitarian organization made up of volunteers who were joined together on Ko Phi Phi Island, Thailand after the Tsunami of 2004. This grassroots organization, originally known as Help International Phi Phi (HI Phi Phi), rallied to transform a ravaged island back into paradise and leave a legacy of hope for survivors. Hi Phi Phi received a "Heros of Asia" award from Time Magazine in 2005. After the tragedy in Burma, we felt compelled to unite our forces and help once again. Through our already established contacts, we are partnering with North Burma Christian Mission (NBCM), which has permission to distribute aid to 60 villages in Irrwaddy-Delta region.

HI Burma will provide assistance directly to survivors as well as via established local NGOs. Immediate emergency assistance will be supplied as well as an organized effort to provide for viable long-term restoration projects.
